Joan Is a licensed health insurance agent (Producer) for MidAtlantic Health Plan Advisors serving clients in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties in Delaware. She provides advice and recommendations to beneficiaries of Medicare benefit plans including Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans (MAP’s), and Prescription Drug Plans (PDP’s).

Joan will help you coordinate your coverage to include your physician, physical therapy, x-ray, and pharmaceutical needs. She is appointed by the national insurance companies that offer plans in Delaware and can recommend Medicare supplemental, Medicare Advantage, and prescription drug coverage tailored to your needs.

Joan has a background in healthcare and the health service industries and holds advanced degrees in clinical social service, MSS, and law and social policy, MLSP, from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. She previously provided clinical therapy and supervision to individuals, families and groups, in her outpatient private practice in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Joan works with her husband Bob; together they run MidAtlantic Health Plan Advisors, servicing the residents of New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties in Delaware.

Bob developed MidAtlantic Health Plan Advisors based upon a commitment to provide the knowledge and unbiased advice necessary for his clients to make informed decisions regarding enrolling in Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug Plans and related benefit products. This includes products designed especially for retiring, disabled, special needs, or dually eligible populations. Bob has spent his entire professional career providing services to people enrolled in multiple health insurance and managed care benefit plans throughout the Mid-Atlantic area. 

He has worked at some of the largest health insurance companies in the country building programs, working in communities, and managing health benefit programs designed to improve health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. Now, as an independent broker and agent, Bob is able to focus his experise and knowledge helping his clients navigate the complexities of the many Medicare options available in today's marketplace with the goals of selecting the plans that best meet their individual needs. 

His career includes executive management positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware, Christiana Care Health Systems, Health Partners Plans, and Aetna. Bob received his BA from the State University of NY (SUNY) at Buffalo and a Master in Public Health in Health Care Administration for the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. After his tour in the US Army during Vietnam, he settled in Delaware to marry and raise his family.
